Email Clients
An email client is software that retrieves your email from a
server on the internet, displays your emails for reading and
allows you to compose and send emails from your computer.
Some clients like Microsoft Outlook provide additional
functionality like calendaring and contact management.
A note on POP vs. IMAP.
Access to your email account comes in two types, POP and
IMAP. Basically, POP downloads all your emails to your
local computer and deletes them off the server, from there it is
up to you to save or delete the messages. In IMAP messages
are kept on the server until you actually purge them, deleting
them only remove them from your local inbox.
So which should you use? The easiest way to decide is
to determine if you will need access to your email account from
more than one computer. For example, if you want to access
your email from a computer at home and another one at work,
choose IMAP. That way you won't have different messages on
each machine. If you are only going to be accessing your
email from one computer choose POP, it frees up space on the
server and most anti-spam software works better with POP.

You will need to setup your email client to access your new
email account. Please review
details on setting up Microsoft
Outlook with your new email address or you can use the free
Thunderbird email client. Setup is similar.
